Why Do We Use Natural Wax
The main benefit of natural wax (soy, coconut etc) over tradition paraffin comes down to health, sustainability and burn quality.
-
- Non- Toxic & Clean Burn: Natural waxes are renewable and biodegradable. They burn cleaner, producing minimal soot (black stuff that stains the jar and walls). Paraffin is petroleum-based and release potential harmful by product like Toluene & Benzene in the air.
-
- Better and Softer Burn: Natural wax burns slower and cooler, meaning the candle last longer than paraffin. It also have excellent scent throw. Since the melting point is lower, the wax is cooler to the touch and the risk of burn is slightly reduced.
-
- Easy Clean Up: If spill, most natural waxes can be easily cleaned with soap and water. Paraffin normally requires chemical cleaners to remove.

-
- Biodegradable: Pure natural wax can be toss without worrying about contributing to microplastics.
- The Environmental Concern: while paraffin doesn’t shed microplastics, it is still non-renewable, petroleum based product. Unlike natural waxes, it does not biodegrade and when burn it can release petro-soot and potentially harmful compounds into your home.
